About

My name is Bryan

Welcome to my AI adventure

I am a 50-something (cough) corporate software implementation consultant. I know, exciting already isn’t it?

HR and payroll systems are my speciality, Oracle Cloud HCM to be specific, but I am something of a generalist having been programming since the age of 12 when I got my first Atari 800XL and picked up many different perspectives of company life through my career, much of it as an advanced end user.

Being the person who actually reads the manuals turns out to be quite useful.

My favourite topic nowadays is requirements analysis, it is remarkable to me how difficult it is to nail down exactly what is required in an IT system, our personal lives, politics, or ordering the perfect sandwich. If you don’t know what you want, you really don’t know what you’re going to get. One thing is for sure – letting someone else decide for you rarely ends well.

And this is where we are today. We kind of know that AI is the answer, but nobody seems to know what the question is. This will be a recurring theme in this blog as I search for meaning in the AI landscape as it develops around us. I hope you find it interesting, but I’m going to do it anyway because it’s cheaper than therapy.

Oh, and I do like creating AI images, you might see a bit of that too.
